About Chef Emily

Healthy Lifestyle Strategist & Recipe Developer

I am a former social worker turned healthy lifestyle strategist and founder of Emily's Foods. For 15 years, I ran a successful mental health private practice, and although I enjoyed my work, I always knew I had an additional calling. As I searched deeper, I realized that my passion and calling was food and healthy living.
Drawing inspiration from my Southern upbringing, I began to merge my love for fitness with the culinary world. I soon discovered that this was actually a natural fit for me. Cooking is an activity that brings me joy and was ingrained in me as a child. Growing up in rural Mississippi watching my mother and other family members cook gave me joy. Therefore, I began to experiment and soon discovered how to make healthy Southern recipes, specializing in desserts, and icings. After making the shift in my lifestyle, I begin to see how others could benefit from my research and spin on traditional Southern dishes. As I further expanded my knowledge, I began to participate in culinary events and eventually completed a 10 week culinary business incubator at the Art House in Gary, Indiana. I am passionate about still helping others, but now it is in the capacity of how to live a healthy lifestyle by introducing clean eating alternatives. I am continuously improving my recipes by adapting and experimenting in the kitchen. I am wholly focused on developing and producing snacks and meals that are clean, natural and organic.
